Software Support Representative

Assist in providing support services worldwide via telephone and email. Interface daily with clients in an expert assistance role and guide efforts to achieve issue resolution. Determine client issues through questioning and propose methods to resolve their issues. Self-learn and educate our client base on the proper use of software products we sell. Conducts reporting and specific case management duties in collaboration with product management

Primary Duties

  • Self-learns and remains up to date on all products and services sold by DPSI.  Can coach client’s employees on all products.
  • Responds immediately to client needs and meets or exceeds resolution time and service level requirements for all assigned tasks.
  • Conducts appropriate Internet research to understand and provide solutions to client’s problems.
  • Interfaces daily with clients in a leadership role and guides efforts to achieve goals
  • Operates as a team player with other personnel and support functions.
  • Pro-actively seeks to enhance skill through ongoing product training and professional development.
  • Reads, understands and complies with appropriate current DPSI operating procedures as applicable.
Skills & Knowledge
  • Effective team skills, communication, decision making, and problem solving skills
  • CMMS experience a plus
  • Microsoft Office including Access and Excel
  • Microsoft SQL or Oracle Database
  • Second language beneficial
  • Networking with Windows at an Enterprise level
  • Reporting writing with Crystal Reports or Active Reports
  • MSSQL/PSQL
  • Database management

Quality Assurance Engineer

Department: Quality Assurance

Location: Newfoundland, Canada


  • BASIC PURPOSE
    • Responsible for assuring the quality of DPSI software and services through extensive testing. Researches and develops an understanding of the marketing requirements for the product features being tested, including how the users use the feature and their performance requirements for the functionality as designed.
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Develop and Execute Test Plans during the release cycle and at all major project milestones
    • Perform Functionality, Integration and Regression testing
    • Interacts with other groups to troubleshoot and resolve application quality defects and issues
    • Report defects and quality issues using the Rational Clearquest Tracking System
    • Automate Test Cases using automated testing tools
  • ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Additional duties may include:
    • Formatting and configuring both desktop and server computers
    • Configuration of network environments based on customer recreation of problems
    • Assisting in troubleshooting problems with the Technical Support Department as needed
  • ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
    • Education & Training: Bachelor of Computer Science or Diploma in Information Technology / Computer science with at least 2 years experience
    • Specialized Knowledge & Skills: Proven experience in RDBMS in both MSSQL and Oracle, excellent attention to details and a sharp eye for spelling and grammar, good understanding of the software development life cycle, strong troubleshooting skills, familiar with defect tracking tools, familiarity with multiple operating systems and versions.
    • Type Equipment Used: PC and various software products such as Rational Performance Studio, Mercury WinRunner. Familiarity with Rational Rose or other modeling tools
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
    • General office environment. Some stress may occur. No special physical demands required.

Software Developer

DPSI, an International Company with offices in the U.S. and Canada is actively seeking resumes from programmers.

Job Description

This position will primarily program in C# on an n-tier application.

Successful applicants must be willing to relocate to the Exploits Valley Region in Newfoundland, Canada and posses 3+ years’ experience in the following areas:
1) Responsible for analysis, implementation, and maintenance of iMaint.
2) Includes the maintenance and enhancement of existing maintenance management and work request functionality including the development of new architectures to support distributed and scalable solutions.
3) Prepare technical documentation for product modules
4) Prepare technical estimates on all tasks
Conduct unit and integration testing for functionality and limits.
5) Research problems discovered by QA and Customer Support and develop solutions
Contribute to project planning and status reporting process

Ideal candidates will also possess:
1) Object Oriented design/programming techniques
2) Developing end-user applications, including experience designing clear, compelling GUI’s in a rapid and iterative fashion based on specifications
3) Writing applications in C#, Visual Basic 6
4) Experience with XML, ASP, or ASP.NET, T-SQL is required
5) Deep knowledge of the Rational Unified Process
6) Client-based and server-based development
7) Ability too design and build prototypes to establish requirements or prove concepts
8) Excellent research and analysis skills
9) Ability to accurately estimate tasks and meet deadlines
10) Experience with MSSQL and Oracle
11) Experience in developing applications to run in a web based environment at an enterprise level
12) Experience using Crystal Reports or Active Reports
13) Experience with InstallShield and other install types considered an asset

Remuneration is commensurate with experience.
